Discover Marine Life at the University of Texas Marine Science Institute
The Patton Center for Marine Science Education at UT’s Marine Science Institute is one of the best free stops in Port Aransas. Eight large aquaria replicate Gulf Coast habitats from estuaries to offshore reefs, and the facility also has a touch tank, keeper chats, and fish-feeding demonstrations. Adjacent walking trails wind through the Wetlands Education Center, a 3.5-acre marsh near the South Jetty worth a stop for birding.
