Boating Journey to Port Aransas

When you’re looking forward to a getaway that offers you easy access to sun, sand, and fun on the waves, Port Aransas, Texas checks every box on that list. Located on the northern tip of Mustang Island along the Texas Coastal Bend, Port Aransas is a great place to gather with family and friends and enjoy a laid-back atmosphere with easy access to adventures on the water as well. For those who have a passion in place for boating, Port Aransas makes it easy to linger longer than you might have planned. Whether you’re arriving with your own vessel or looking to rent, the following Port Aransas boat itinerary will ensure your boating journey this way is exceptional from start to finish.

Day 1: Spend Time at the Port Aransas City Marina

The first stop when you arrive in Port Aransas for a boating journey should be the Port Aransas City Marina. Located right in the city harbor, this marina also functions as a park and ferry landing and hosts Woody’s Sport Center where you can stock up on fuel and other boating essentials. For many visitors, the beauty of this marina is its proximity to just about everything there is to see and do in Port Aransas. Before you even head out on the water, you’ll enjoy opportunities to explore the park, watch the ferries sail by, and it’s also common to be able to spot dolphins in the distance from the marina shoreline. The Port Aransas City Marina hosts a variety of convenient amenities on-site including a captain’s lounge, a fish cleaning station, eight boat ramps, a laundry facility, public restrooms, floating docks, and short and long-term slip options to book. Ice is also available to purchase on-site before you head out for a head of fun. Salty Lyf Cruises depart from this marina as well so if you partner up with them during your stay, you can enjoy a guided boat cruise or rent a pontoon boat of your own to explore at your own preferred pace.

You’ll want to be sure to drop by the ship store on-site which is open daily from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm and is always stocked up with soft drinks, beer, and snacks as well as frozen bait, fishing tackle, ice, and more. When you’ve anchored in for the day, you’ll be delighted to find this marina is just across the highway from the Palmilla Beach Golf Course making it simple to pair your sailing with options to work on your short and long game too.
